As a rising senior, adapting to the “new normal” due to COVID-19 has been a unique experience. From taking online AP exams to SAT/ACTs being canceled, this upcoming college application cycle seems more unpredictable than ever. It’s the reason why I work with Cultivate Academics to guide me through these unprecedented times.

In today’s world, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by the prevalent uncertainty, especially in the next academic year, but as I’ve worked with Cultivate Academics, I have been able to stay focused on my goals and continue to keep my edge in the college admissions process. Talking with Rebecca to modify my college list and to brainstorm ideas for my personal statement has been some of the most productive discussions which allow me to be prepared for my senior year. Using the Cultiv8 core mindsets, such as intentionality and reflection, have been priceless tools as I’ve tried to showcase my most authentic self through my application. Even just by identifying that I should continue to show demonstrated interest from home, Cultivate Academics has helped me to learn more about my own passions and reflect every step of the way.

Most importantly, however, I have become a more confident person through Cultivate. Initially, navigating senior year and college applications all online sounded extremely daunting. It seemed impossible to progress when the entire world was put on pause. But working with Cultivate and using by taking advantage Cultivate’s user-centered approach helped me embody the qualities that I needed not only for academic achievement but also personal success. Learning how to effectively reflect upon my own passions and experiences allowed me to become a more resilient and balanced student, especially going into senior year. With Cultivate Academics, I have been able to grow not only through the college admissions process but also as a student.
